Sims 2 Download probs?

O.K, I'm in a MAJOR jam with this Sims 2 downloads from www.vitasims2.com:





No matter WHAT, WHAT WHAT wwWWWWHHHHAT I do:





A.) Opening and saving the files in My Documents, EA Games, Downloads


B.) Unzipping them from desktop to downloads folder





I can ONLY download a "collection" file and not the actual things. Collection files are about 8.86 KB. I get the collection file, but no items and there is no other button that will allow me to do so on the site. Anywho, I am getting BIG TIME frustrated, even the administration said: "All internet browsers aren;t the same and you need to download from internet explorer... "which made little to no sense because you can't download jack WITHOUT internet explorer. Anyone who is very familiar with Vita Sims, is there a "secret" button that allows you to download actual things and not just the file, because the collection file is in my game alright... except I just end up with a child's playbox or an urn instead.

What are you trying to download from the site? If it's clothes, you need to make sure you have meshes that go with the outfits, if they're needed.





If you are downloading an OBJECT you need to have the color enabler package, it says so on the site:





IMPORTANT: You must have Colour Enabler Packages-CEP





The CEP is linked on the site, wherever the file is needed.





Their site works just like other sites, click download, SAVE the file to your desktop, then unzip. They use Winrar for a lot of their files, so you'll have to use that to get some of the stuff to show up. Then, just put everything into your downloads foler. If you have all of the correct files and meshes and stuff, the files should show up with no problem.





Since you didn't specify what you were trying to download, you just said in your last sentence above "I just ended up with a child's playbox or an urn instead", that makes me believe you were trying to download an object and not clothes. Go back and do what I suggested above and see what happens. If that doesn't work, it's best to discuss it further wtih that site's admins and have them walk you through the download process.
Reply:I just downloaded a file from VitaSims and it worked just fine. I AM using Firefox so let me check IE. Nope, works for me with that too.





There's no secret button, I just hit the Download and it worked. Can you download from another site?
Reply:I think I kinda know what you're talking about. I've been on vitasims2.com before, but I honestly started maybe around yesterday. I think you should visit another site.

And I'm still browsing other download sites. But the easiest to download from is thesims2.com, because on modthesims2.com, there are all these sites you need to download some meshes from to download an actual sim, unless the whole sim is made by the one creator.
