Why does my download speed become very low when i download torrents?

Every friday i usually download torrents for tv show "lost" but whenever i download it, my download speed falls really low like 7kb/sec whereas whenever i download anything from limewire (not torrents) the download speed is normal.. like its on 60kb/sec. so i was just wondering why this happens and is there a way i could fix it. I use uTorrent client and near my download speed it has that icon saying "no incoming connections" .


This doesnt only happen with lost but some other tv shows i download too. My firewall is usually off. So could anyone please help me with my problem.

torrents work that way, you are downloading the most popular one to where there are a ton of people downloading from one person it makes the file go slow..it is also because of the file size.
Reply:Its simple. The seeders is choking their upload speed so that you dont take their bandwidth completely... Try this wehn you aer downloading the torrent make a speed test. http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest





see if you have a good download speed when you are still using torrent..
Reply:yep.. it depends a lot on seeders.. you cant help it.. the only option is to choose u r torrent file wisely.. ie frm a good source wher u knw ther are a number of seeders...
